Martin Hickman
Journalist and author of 'Dial M for Murdoch', reporting on the ongoing phone hacking trials
Martin Hickman is a journalist and publisher in London. He began his career on the Hull Daily Mail and has worked at the Press Association, Reuters, and the Independent, where he was a news editor and latterly a reporter. In 2010 at the Foreign Press Association awards in London he won the Environment and Journalist of the Year categories for an investigation into the damage done by palm oil in south-east Asia. In 2012 with Tom Watson MP he wrote the Sunday Times bestseller Dial M for Murdoch: News Corporation and the Corruption of Britain.

In 2013/14 Hickman covered the trial of Rebekah Brooks and edited and published an acclaimed account of the case by Peter Jukes. Hickman's company, Canbury Press, specialises in non-fiction. He remains interested in unpicking the knot of criminality at Rupert Murdoch's UK newspapers.
