Olsi Vullnetari: The unholy alliance with Davies
Olsi Vullnetari, aka Thomas Hamilton, a software programmer, was a trustee for the Sompan and Kurbet fake charities. He dealt with matters in his real name for The Sompan Foundation, however for The Kurbet Foundation he appeared as Thomas Hamilton, an identity belonging to an Irish school teacher not connected to the fraud. In both names and for both charities, Vullnetari was involved in transferring approximately £1 million to bogus charities across Europe. Around £300,000 went to charities in the Netherlands which he was linked to.
Vullnetari is also a graduate of Sussex University, and a renowned expert in Albanian migration to the UK, consulted by the UK Home Office, and compiling reports for other official bodies. Until I informed them of his conviction, Vullnetari was a member of the Albanian Migration Network.
Along with his sister Julie, another graduate from Sussex, he claims to be an expert in, "trafficking for sexual exploitation; ethnic minorities, especially the Roma and Balkan, Egyptians; gender issues and the position of women in Albanian society, with specific reference to domestic violence; policies and institutions on gender, human rights, development, and migration; diasporas and citizenship."
Did Vullnetari get greedy, and led astray by John Davies, or is he a manipulative criminal who was leading a double life until the law caught up with him?
Watch this space. There is plenty about Vullnetari you don't know, but, if I succeed in funding my ten-part podcast, soon will.
